Lots of work...

The next two months we are at work a LOT! Part of my job involves retail, so Christmas is our busiest time, and L's job as a midwife involves rotations of shift patterns and departments - currently she is mostly working 5 night shifts a week. This means that I leave for work as L comes home, and vice versa!
But although we aren't getting to spend a lot of time together, we've had some brilliant days together recently:
  • On Saturday we wandered around the farmers market we never get to see as we are always working Saturdays, then had hot chocolate in a cafe. When we returned we met up with friends to celebrate one of our friends birthday

We spent the rest of the day with friends ice skating, bowling, and going to the yummy Jimmy Spices restaurant for food, before spending Sunday chilling out watching movies in our pyjamas eating a cheese indoor picnic!
  • We put our Halloween decorations up - they go up early October and stay until Halloween. Not many people decorate for Halloween in England but I think they're missing out!
  • We went for lunch at italian Rossopommodoro - the food was gorgeous, and we had diet coke in actual bottles! We also wandered around Selfridges and looked at their Halloween displays, and had a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. L also bought me a bunch of rainbow coloured flowers!

  • We went to view our engagement pictures with our wedding photographer. We (me especially) had been really nervous about this as I'm not a huge fan of having my photo taken! We needn't have worried though, as the pictures were lovely, and gave us (along with pics our photographer had taken of another lesbian wedding recently) gave us even more confidence that she will take some lovely photos at our wedding. On the way home, we went for lunch at a place recommended by our photographer - it was gorgeous!

We have this weekend in London which we are looking forward to, and we also have my dads 60th birthday on Halloween.
And longer term, we have our wedding, our honeymoon, and, being as we won't have a wedding to save for, hopefully a few holidays! Its hard work at the moment, but will all be very worth it :)

  1. Great post lovely - it's always good to hear about the things you've been up too! Plus seeing that cake again made us smile - it was SO good! In fact that whole weekend was SO good and we can't wait to see you this weekend! Laura is more than a little bit happy to have a Holloween ally! :)

  2. That cake looks sooooo good
We love rossopommodoro too - we went to one last weekend in London, we didn't know there was one in B'Ham :)

    1. There is indeed, think its the only one outside of London, its a little one inside Selfridges :)

Thank you so much for commenting, we love hearing others experiences, or just if you liked the post!
